This is the perfect time of year to celebrate Polar Bears!
They almost seem like mythical beasts to those of us in the lower 49 but they capture the spirit of Christmas so endearingly. I photographed this one while he was searching for treats his keeper had thrown into the pool for him. Being able to observe him not only above, but below the water as he paddled with his enormous paws was breathtaking!
